Still Life Through The Lens

If you are reading this page you are probably already a fan of great photography. When I first started this blog it really began as a documentary to interior design and all of its different aspects. New products on the market, great designers, inspiration for room schemes, and shops where you can get whatever it is that makes your heart flutter. That was my mission. To keep a visual diary of anything that makes me look for a few seconds longer in this fast paced world of visual distraction.

Along the way Heart Home magazine started to germinate and grow. From looking at images of interiors, to creating those images was a steep learning curve and one that started a whole new passion. To encapsulate in a snap-shot the mood and atmosphere of a room. To capture a single moment in time that speaks louder than words.

Don’t get me wrong. Us editors played a very small part in a much bigger picture. Our photographers were the real hero’s of the moment. And then there were the stylists whose skill in assembling, editing and displaying, is nothing short of legendary. Gradually I was more interested in portraying interior design than actually creating it. I love a great image and I’ll share on these pages as many as I can.

And then came along Pinterest and Instagram. The fast-food outlets of photographic inspiration. A second on the eyes and then gone. To be replaced by another equally compelling image. And then another. And another. And another. Which is great, but also kinda sad. When did we stop really looking and appreciating?

Those photographs that have been lovingly caressed by the lens deserve to be around longer than a few seconds, or even a week or a month, which is the lifespan of a glossy magazine. Which is why Living Inside, an international photo agency based in Milan are now offering some of their photographic library as fine art prints.
